I am an artist and designer working independently in the Portland, Oregon area. I draw inspiration and ideas from my lifelong love of textiles, texture, color and form. My work is available for exhibition and direct sale. Projects? Collaborations? Contact me.
About me
I am a first generation immigrant with roots on the West Coast. My family immigrated to the US from Romania in the late 1970's, landing first on the East Coast. My parents quickly moved away from the familiar weather of Massachusetts to the mild climate of California and have been there since.
I moved to attend UC Santa Cruz, moved to the Bay Area after college, and have progressed North ever since; landing in Portland, Oregon. I lived in LA from 2006-2010, during which time I worked mostly in surface design in the textile industry. This experience reinforced my love of color, texture and pattern; the depth of it's influence is evident throughout my work.
My love of textiles extends into garments of all sorts. I am an avid collector and lover of vintage and unusual items, from which I draw encouragement and inspiration. I have a passion for the re-engineering and re-design of garments for contemporary application and interpretation. My grandmother was an amazing seamstress, confident and creative, she was well loved by her clients. She was an inspiration to me and so many others that she taught and mentored in her community.
These days, I work in watercolor as well as garments, textiles and multi-media collage style at times. For work, I am available for garment construction/alterations/re-engineering, portraits, commissions and collaborations. Take a look at my work and contact me with any questions, feedback, projects, etc. Thanks!
